Happy Fitness Inspiration Friday! Another week has passed and we have begun a new month. Where has the time gone. I cannot believe it is the first Friday in April… already! Each Friday I feature someone who inspires me in the realm of fitness.
This week I am excited to introduce you to my fellow FitFluential friend, Kris. She has a great blog http://www.krismbeal.com where she shares her heart with humor of being human.
Tell me a little bit about your fitness journey.
My fitness mantra is do something, anything, every day. Consistency is key for me, and I really don’t work out hard enough to really “deserve” a rest day. Ha! If I am feeling sore or tired, I still “try” to walk or stretch, because the action shows that I truly value movement.
What is your fitness LOVE?
That is a really great question, and my dilemma is that I don’t really have one. I’m not really passionate about any kind of exercise program. BUT, I love being strong, having a healthy heart, and being functionally fit. So I have to focus on the end point to keep me motivated on the action. That said, I am very fond of full body, compound, low weight moves – I love gadgets – I love combining cardio and resistance – and I love how balanced that type of workout is. And I almost really started liking swimming last year. Almost….
What is your ONE piece of fitness advice you find helpful to keep you motivated?
I’m all about the “next indicated thing”. When I began a couple of years ago, my unhealthy habit list was ridiculously long. So I picked the “next indicated thing”. For me, it was eat breakfast…. no matter what! I only focused on that for several weeks. Then I would pick the next thing. In my case, I committed to a trainer once a week. Then I committed to going to the gym once on my own per week. Little by little, I have adopted dozens of healthy habits, that for the most part, are a part of my daily life. And I CELEBRATE every one of them 🙂
