This past week I have been focusing on the healthy change of moving more. Focusing on the simple daily activity of movement. Our week has been crazy busy preparing for the move, and wiping snotty noses and all that life brings.
I found this image on Pinterest this morning and had to share. I thought it was a great way to show the benefits of movement (walking). You don’t have to be a runner to lose weight and get healthy. Walking is a fabulous way to reap the healthy benefits of an active lifestyle.
This year, my parents have challenged themselves to walk 500 miles together. I think this is a fabulous goal to not only strengthen their relationship (because they walk together thus spending more time together) but also keep their body and mind healthy.
Walking only 30 minutes a day, 5 times a week can make you a healthier and happier YOU! Get out there and make the healthy choice to get active, get moving, and live your life to the full.

Walking is awesome!
Kev and I walked the Reggae Marathon half marathon in 2010 and I lost my 1st 80 lbs by doing Walk Away the Pounds in home workouts. It’s something most anyone can do.
Looking forward to the weather getting nice out so we can go on our long weekend walks at the various state parks around here.

love this! People overlook walking all the time, but it’s so great for us. While I’m trying to get pregnant, I’m doing NO running and only walking. I just love it!

I love walking! We go on a ton of family walks and I enjoy it so much. As much as I love running, I don’t always pay much attention to the scenery. I love to go on walks to see new places and notice things I usually breeze right by. I also love that walking is a pretty “easy” activity that’s great for you. Good for your parents setting that goal!

WOW I never realized all the good things walking can bring to your life. I’m guilty of thinking of it like something I HAVE to do when I CAN’T run and I need to change that mind set.
