Happy Fitness Inspiration Friday! I hope you had a fantastic fit, active and healthy week! Keeping up with the tradition from the past few months, this week I am featuring a woman who is a fitness inspiration to me. I have only known her a short amount of time, but the moment I met her I was inspired. She is a fellow fit mom, and you know that I love when mom’s fit fitness in their life!
I am excited to introduce Annie, my featured FitSpiration!
Several years ago I ran across a flier for a a local half marathon. I thought that was an awfully ambitious activity, and filed it away for “maybe someday”.
Meanwhile, I was going slightly crazy. We had recently taken in three foster children under the age of two. An 18 month old who had lived in six different homes, and a set of twins. This was in addition to the three school aged children we had. I was not sleeping, not eating well, and literally going crazy. I had two options – find a way to be not crazy or give up. Having recently lost three kids back to the foster system, giving up was not an option.
Last week I ran that local half marathon for the second time. It was my fourth half marathon. I am not setting any records, but this year the little kids turned six and after six years of uncertainty, we were able to adopt them.
Now that the kids are in school, so am I. I enrolled this fall in The Institute for Integrative Nutrition with the goal of becoming a health coach. Coupled with being a Certified Personal Trainer I will be able to help others find their path to wellness through exercise and nutrition.
If I could offer advice on how to stay motivated, I would tell you to find something you would miss if you didn’t do it. For me that is running.
When I’m not running, you can find me on Twitter or at annieology.com
Thank you Annie!! You are a fitness inspiration!!
