A few months ago, I remember reading (or seeing on the news) an article about a little boy who was sick and claimed that he went to heaven. He had vivid memories of his trip to heaven and actually wrote a book about his trip. He has a book that is for adults and recently came out with a picture book for kids detailing his experience.
As a mom, trying to explain to my children what heaven is like is hard. I have never been there. Most people who go there do not return to share what they have seen. And those that do claim to visit and return… well, most are criticized.
I do not know what heaven is like. I do believe in heaven and am looking forward to one day living there for eternity with Christ. I am believing that my children and loved ones will be with me too.
I was given an opportunity through BookSneeze to review Heaven is for Real for Kids. It is an easy to read book by Colton Burpo. Colton details his trip to heaven with a very important message: Jesus really, really loves children.
This book is child friendly with beautifully illustrated pictures portraying Colton’s experiences. This book is uniquely written for children, sharing things that will be important to kids. There is even a letter to parents guide in the back of the book to help initiate thought provoking questions with your children… with scripture references.
My children enjoyed this book. They are fascinated with heaven and angels and God. Although many questions still remained unanswered… and will be until the day we visit heaven ourselves, this is a great book to start the conversation.
Disclosure: I received this book for review. No compensation was given. All opinions are my own.

I loved the regular version of the book and just tonight was thinking I need to get the kids version.
