Many of us have heard the term Bucket List. Heck, some of us even have our own personal life goal list – our own bucket list. I know that I have many life goals that I would like to achieve while I am here on earth.
A few weeks ago, I shared ten of my bucket list items. Of course, ten items for a bucket list is a short list.
Here are a few of my future goals and aspirations for my FITNESS BUCKET List:
Run a 5K (or other fun run) WITH my children
I would love to share my love of running WITH my children by running a race together. My boys love racing me to the end of the street at the end of my runs. Usually I am so pooped, that they beat me! They LOVE beating Mommy… and I LOVE seeing their joy as they run WITH me.
Yet, perhaps a duathlon or a triathlon is in our future, as my two oldest boys have found a new love for dirt bike riding.
Set a personal best for the half marathon (goal time: 2 hour finish)
I have run and completed three half marathons. I love the challenge and motivation that training for a distance race provides. I must admit, in the past, when I sign up to run this distance I make sure I am able to finish… just not with a desired time in mind.
I have a fitness goal to finish this race with a time of 2 hours. This will be an extreme improvement over my current half marathon personal best time of 2:21.
I know that anything is possible with determination, dedication and heart! Stay tuned for this bucket list accomplishment!
Run a FULL Marathon
Plain and simple, I want to run and complete a full marathon. I want to know the thrill of excitement as I cross the finish line, emotionally and physically exhausted! Silly, right? I have put off training for this distance race because of the time restraint I have with training. I am still a breastfeeding with three small children home all day. Excuses, I know.
I hope to run and compete in my first FULL marathon very soon – perhaps in the next 2 years!
Compete in a triathlon
I love to swim. I love to bike. I love to run! What a great combination of the three sports to challenge my mental and physical ability! I am totally game for any distance triathlon – preferably sprint!
Honestly, one of the BIG things that is holding me back is the open swim part of the race. I see visions of sharks and sucking in gallons of salt water. Yuck! I do think it would be a blast and totally want to swim, bike & run one very soon!
Compete (do) a Ride and Tie
My brother in-law and sister in-law ride and compete in ride and ties. It is a race with two people and a horse that makes an exhilarating race! Basically it is a trail race where you and a teammate run the course (either on foot or by riding a horse).
I watched (and helped) my first RnT a few years ago. I was supposed to run with my brother in law, but was pregnant…. thus unable to participate. I do look forward to the challenge and adventure that this race brings!

Those are great goals and you can achieve every one of them with your positive thinking! I did my first tri 4 yrs ago when I decided I needed a change from just running. I was hooked after my first one. Open water swim can be daunting at first but I found I actually enjoy the open water better than pool swimming. My next goal major goals are running a trail 50K and completing my first half IM.

i plan to run my very FIRST 5K Sept 24th this year.
I also would like to participate in a dualathon (bike, and run) i can’t swim haha
I also want to get a few certifications in fitness. such as spin instructor and other group fitness!

Those are great goals! The ride and tie sounds like a lot of fun! I’ve never heard of that.
My fitness goal is to improve on my best marathon time, but running a trail race sounds like fun, too.
