Fresh New YEAR
Fresh New START
Fresh New SNOW!?!
Yes! We got snow on New Years Day!! It has never snowed here (in the 5.5 years we have lived here!). I don’t know who was more excited the boys or Mommy!? 🙂
It was kind of a prophetic moment… He washed me white as snow. Knowing that the new year brings a clean slate… a fresh start.
I have made a few goals for this year. Many will be reached, others will be a work in progress. I am starting over. Starting fresh.
December was a bad month for me. I over induldged with the cookies, sweets, and yummy meals. I also was very inactive the past few weeks. The rain and chill had set in and working out (outside) was not in the cards for me.
Workout Confession: I really have a hard time sweating in my livingroom!!
Yes, I know that I will be doing p90x starting TODAY! I will be sweating in my livingroom… but don’t think for a moment that it will be fun, enjoyable, or NICE! I will do my best to get a full workout in without getting too much sweat on my rug… hopefully only on my hot pink yoga mat.
…Hmm…
What are ways you can workout without leaving the house? Well, the obvious answer would be working out with a DVD or game console. However, ther are other fun options too.
- Random impromtu dance parties with my boys
- Riding the ‘monster’ <– Mommy as she chases the other children
- Stripping and remaking the boys bunk beds (Can you bend and climb at the same time!?)
- Stripping and remaking the king sized bed (for real!)
- My boys love it when I throw them in the air – great full body workout!
Perhaps I can convince Gabe to move the spare tv to the garage and set up a little gym there!?
Maybe.
All kidding aside, I really am excited to Bring It the next 90 days! I just hope that I don’t quit and stick to the program. I also need to PLAN and PREPARE with regards to nutrition!! Fresh start. Fresh Year. Fresh Me!
(I will post my progress photos and measurements with my 30/60/90 updates)
Pre-P90x weight: 145.6 lbs
Have a positive week! Bring It!!

What a great start to the new year! I can’t wait to see how you do with the P90X!

Put a sheet down under your yoga mat!
Man, the past few weeks were rough for a lot of us. I gained a few pounds. Really didn’t move and ate SOOOO badly, probably with the knowledge I was going to do the P90X starting today. Silly really.
I’m scared of quitting too. Let’s cheer each other on so we don’t do that!!

Thanks for the Mamavation encouragement! Yes, I am feeling a bit nervous.
We had snow here too on NYD… that is unheard of! Our little valley NEVER gets snow. I agree it was a wonderful reminder of renewal and cleansing.
I wish you the best for your 2011 goals. The P90x is pretty intimidating, I am looking forward to watching your progress. Better have a towel handy. It looks like sweaty business.

Wishing you so much on your goals! I keep hearing about the P90x….sounds amazing. And brutal 🙂 I also wanted to tell you that I very much appreciate the mamavation encouragement. I am excited to see what happens, and as you said..keep going regardless of what happens!

I am so looking forward to seeing how everyone does with P90X. Such a great program, but man it is not for wussies.
Sounds like you’re ready to move forward in health. Happy New Year!

I know you will definitely BRING IT in the new year, Rachel! The holidays are behind us, time to get focused, and prepare for success!!
And I’m totally in awe that you can throw your boys up in the air. I tried curling with LB yesterday and I only got 4 reps before giving in! 🙂
Rachel says
I can toss Tristen (25 lbs) a few times. I can only toss Peyton like 1-2 times (he is almost 40lbs) and getting too tall. 😛 The boys LOVE it. I have succombed to the spinning game (holding them by their arm pits and spinning). They squeal and laugh – mommy almost hurls. 😛

Laura @SeeLauraRun says
Making the bed as exercise? LMAO! Yea, that is something I definately took forgranted when I had my twin at college… big beds are rough!
Good luck with your P90X… I am super psyched to see how you guys do!
@SeeLauraRun
P.S. your little boy is adorable!
Megan says
Wow snow! It snowed there about 8 years ago when we were living there and I missed it because I was working. Your son’s face is priceless!
Good luck restarting with a clean slate and the P90X challenge. You’ll do awesome!

I am hear for you if you get that sinking feeling of “I can’t do this” you SO CAN do this! I’m cheering for you to kick some butt on this!
Casey says
Best wishes on the p90x. My husband has talked about that for a while now. I’ll be interested to see how it goes for you and what you think of it. I also don’t like sweating in the living room, but I just throw down a towel if I have to lay down and pretend like that makes the difference. 🙂

Rachel! You know I love you. Way to be real. We all had that crazy December ride. Whoot, I’m all about the goals. Good luck to you and the rest of Team Punishment. See you soon.

Get your sweat on in the living room. You can do it!! I know, it is hard for me too when I’d rather be playing outdoors. However your efforts will pay off.

I LOVE that you included stripping and remaking the beds. It’s totally a workout! Especially bunk beds!! Thanks for all your motivating and inspiration. I think you rock!
